MARCH 25 – Delaware City Council once again tabled the rezoning vote to an unprecedented 6th vote. Council is set to vote on the rezoning on Monday, April 22 at 7pm at City Hall. Please join us then in voicing opposition!

UPDATES: February 6th
THANK YOU, DELAWARE VOTERS!

WE COLLECTED OVER 1,100 SIGNATURES IN JUST 18 DAYS! OUR SIGNATURE COLLECTION WAS SETBACK BY INITIAL PLANNING DELAYS, INCLEMENT WEATHER, & ILLNESSSES. OTHERWISE, WE WOULD HAVE HAD 12 MORE DAYS TO COLLECT AND ARE CONFIDENT WE WOULD HAVE REACHED OUR GOAL!

ALTHOUGH WE DID NOT REACH OUR GOAL OF COLLECTING 1,600 SIGNATURES BY FEBRUARY 6TH TO GET THIS REFERENDUM ON THE BALLOT, WE WERE OVERWHELMED BY THE SUPPORT YOU SHOWED AND THE CONCERNS THAT YOU THE CITIZENS OF DELAWARE RAISED! WE VOW TO CONTINUE TO BRING YOU UPDATES ON THE KILBOURNE 521 PLANS.

WHAT’S NEXT?

  • As of February 7th, 2024, Ordinance No. 24-01 is officially a law and the 230.7 acres is now considered part of the City of Delaware.
  • The current plans for the 230.7 acres are 1,168 units to include 811 multi-family units and 357 single-family units. This information can be found on the City of Delaware website. Scroll down to “Available Archives”, “+City Council”, “January 8, 2024” to view Agenda Packet, pages 161-262 to see the complete plans.
  • City Council tabled the public reading of the rezoning of the 230.7 acres until the February 26th City Council Meeting.
  • Citizens will have the opportunity to speak at this meeting. We encourage you to attend, voice your concerns, and stay informed! City council can vote that evening on the rezoning or choose to table it and have continued public input for two more readings of the rezoning.
